An Experimental Study on Erzurum Ehram Weaving

Ehram is a type of clothing used in outwear by women for covering or protection from cold. As result shearing the wool sheep, cleaning it its dirt, drying laying and spinning it, ehram yarns are prepared woven on wooden shuttle handloom. The colors consist natural sheep such as beige (coffee with milk folk language), white, purple, black. There also many types embroidery- ornament weaving. These ornaments made to during weaving walnut wing, basil branch, honeysuckle, double rice, antique, macaroni, play star, lentil, lady's belly, rice grain, flying bird head without head, fringe comb, cards, diamond earrings, gazelle horn, merdin earrings. However, within scope research, there other motif applications "macaroni, earrings", which have not been found known literature but local people.The study aims bring different perspective traditional usage light findings obtained researching Erzurum. In this study, applied research method was used. A model pattern suggestions were developed over be experimental designs research. 3 designs, under theme sustainability, design card presented reader artistic drawing suggestions.
